Thoughts In General
Just think about thoughts, where do they come from other than brain cells and the brain? Think deeply, the brain cells form your thoughts but they're just cells, tiny tiny little cells and of course the more you have the more you know. Now think even deeper, atoms make up everything so brain cells are atoms but how do atoms form thoughts? How is it that electrical charges from every single atom make us perceive our lives? To form a picture, words, even past events in our heads. When we think of a memory the brain cells are sending off tiny electrical charges for us to remember but it's not just cells it's the atoms that make up the cells. So how in fact is this possible, the blood rushing into our heads, the different lobes in our brain, the feelings we feel, and the things we see all help to form our lives, our knowledge, and our thinking process. It's by experiences, it's experiences that produce more brain cells which in fact let's us think but I still don't understand how it's stored into our heads other than what scientists calls memory. But memory is brain cells and brain cells are atoms but what's deeper and smaller than atoms, I don't think we'll truly ever know or understand.
I'm really confusing myself right now but it's what I like to think about.
I talked a while back about this with my best friend and he told me that thoughts in general are unknown from where they originate from, we absolutely do not know where they come from. It's not just brain cells although brain cells are truly a factor but it's not the complete puzzle, I like to believe it's our true souls that allow us and life everywhere to have a thought no matter if that soul is evil or not, this is how it is.

interesting. :)
who said.. i think therefore i am.
mavin,
its more than interesting, its fascinating! and you can get quite lost in these observations. no, we wil never be able to understand or know all of it. never. becos life that evolved so carefully (even tho it doesnt seem to be so to us), but its just so unique.. to support all this, did so spontaneously.. gradully. its amazing.
here is something htat i think you will like. quasar posts wonderful posts, very knowledgable and fascinating ones in his blog.

read the one titled neural paths in that archive. i think you will like it. :)
Hi Mavin, some people insist that thoughts are just chemical processes and reactions to stimuli and/or our environment.
Whilst that is undoubtedly true, and whilst most of the time we are accessing that which we have learnt, stored or memorised ...
as in knowledge (whether absolute or relatve: history, science, geography, language, literature, fiction, comedy, emotions, ...)
there is also that which is inspirational or impulsive, and creativity that moment of eureka where we think of something that we have not read, seen or heard - but rather as if we access it from the universal mind - as if we see it or read it in our minds, whether it be a painting, a colour, a song, an innovation, an idea or 'original' thought.
Like in music sometimes we get the feeling that everything that can be thought of has been thought of and we are just replaying old songs
Yet as you know new music, new song, new books, new games, new gadgets are being added every day
They may all be a variation on an old song or the 'original' tune but they are additional & new.
Every day is a brand new day
Every day we stand to hear or think of something new, sometimes from others or something we read, sometimes from 'inside' those thoughts feelings and emotions we all experience in our relationships with parents and elders, peers & sibblimgs, loved ones and colleagues ... acting and reacting as we move along time.
Hi Mavin,
it is generally assumed that thoughts are created inside your head - as in in your brain.
But the brain is a processor
A chemical processor, with storage and memory facilities ...
Which receives input from the senses - sight touch hearing smell
But where does 'inspiration' come from - where does that Eureka moment come from?
Quasar9: Very good point, I think we will truly know over time but in the sheer fact of it we will never know. The answer contradicts itself. Scientists will have a scientific explanation of the physics of it but the true art of where it comes from I believe we will not. Inspiration comes not only from the mind but from the heart as well and also the love that gives you inspiration and ambition in the first place.
As you say, the brain is only a chemical processor but where are these chemical processings for the brain to process come from? How does a chemical give us a specific thought. But all in all it's so true, because if I ever become depressed it's because of certain chemicals that the brain is processing that gives me these thoughts.
See when I think about this topic I try to think more of what is not tangible, what is not there in our heads that lets us think. And I keep trying to figure out what could possibly be an answer to these thoughts, to this question, that's left us dumbfounded since the beginning of humankind.
Here's another thing to think about otherthan just the chemicals. Energy, or electricity if you want to call it, that flows through our bodies to give us movement, thoughts, and even feelings. If we're just energy than death is our energy that lets go of us. When we die that energy that flows through each one and all of us, just stops being contained in our bodies and is finally released.
Which in thus explains where thought could and is being originated from, just the pure simple fact that energy flows in our heads and responds to the brain cells we have created or stored and uses them to it's advantage. Thus again in a certain way molds who we are. I mean just think about it, what if it is just energy that gives us our thoughts and the brain cells are what the brain is processing so the energy can have something solid, as in a body or brain, to help give us the movements and thoughts we have.
But then again it could be something even more deeper than that, so, you just have to keep on thinking about it, it is just a thought, thoughts could be anything and take any form.
That's why I leave my mind completely openminded because I don't want to just believe what one scientist tells me I want to believe what 20 scientists tells me because they all lead into one big thing but with the optional view of looking at it from 20 different aspects.
Thanks for your words, I appreciate them very much. :)
oh kevo i miss you sweets i'm sorry we havwent talked much lately lol but i might be able to visit san an soon!!! I can't wait to hear josh's new cd!!! I'm so excited! How is he doing, does he still play at starbucks? How have you been, i really hope everything is going wonderfully!
great blog btw:) you know how i think about those things:P
yes, i've often thought about that and never come up with answers... perhaps, some mysteries were meant to be....
Clouds: I miss you too. :) It's alright that we haven't talked lately but I really do hope you can drive down to visit. You're gonna love Josh's new CD, it's incredible and I've only heard them live and not on his new CD yet, I can't wait either. :D Josh is fine and doing very well and yes he still plays there. I've been fine, just trying to get things goin, you know.
Thanks, I won't forget when we talked about these thoughts, it was great, I miss you. :D
Clezevra: I'm glad you've thought about these thoughts before, the more you think about it the more you'll end up coming up with anwsers, they could be mysteries or they could be your anwsers to your own questions. :)
Hi Mavin
It is one of the true imponderables
Whilst most thoughts can be said to be a reaction or response to something, that still does not explain 'inspiration' and improvisation or the thoughts that still run thru our head even if we are blindfolded and wearing ear muffs.
And dreams do not necessarily have any significant sequential or logical relation to our daily life or the 'real' world.
So our thoughts are a process of memories which we collect as sentient beings - after all you cannot answer a question in a test or exam if you don't have the answer, and sometimes you cannot access the answer, even if and when you 'know' it.
On the other hand we can intuitevely see things or innovate (technological development) by adding to our body of knowledge - from who knows where - and that IS where I think you were getting at, and where science cannot as yet give an answer. What intrinsically makes us different, intelligent and distinct from albeit slower at retrieval than modern fast computers (artificial intellgence).
Hi Quasar,
That's true, thoughts are and can be a reaction to something, but inspiration? Who knows, maybe it's from watching something, that we as a human, find a passion for and when that passion comes into play we want that pasion to grow and so we harness that inspiration that gave us our passion for either playing guitar, working, or even blogging for that matter.
Why do we blog? Because either we want to spread information to others as you have on Torchwood and Quasar9, or to communicate with others and read their comments they leave behind to comment back to them, or maybe we just love to write about things that make us happy. But there it is again, inspiration. If I didn't have inspiration I wouldn't have written back to you. But I do and love it. :) So I think ambition and inspiration comes from a stimulation of the human mind which leads to the heart and from there the love takes over. So idk if it's either the blood levels, stimuli in the brain or something that I'll never know but I love it and that's what matters.
For everything else there's nothing more I need to explain about, you covered it and sent me informtion I love to read. Ahh see there it is again, love, and Idk how to explain it. lol :)
Take care Quasar :D
WOW! thats great thinking.i may be a lil late but it makes me think, is space just a thought?
